Costco reported $28.41 billion in net sales for the retail month of March, up 11% from a year earlier.
The wholesale retailer reported a 9.4% increase in comparable sales during the five weeks ended April 5, including an 8.7% increase in the U.S., an 10.7% growth in Canada, and 11.9% growth in other international markets.
Digitally enabled comparable sales rose 23% compared with the year-ago period.
Stripping out the impact of exchange rates and higher gas prices, comparable sales rose 6.2%.
The company said the retail month had one fewer shopping day compared with last year, negatively impacting total sales by about 1.5%.
