Engineering group Sandvik has appointed Patrick Murphy as the new President of its Mining business area and a member of the Group Executive Management, effective July 1.

He succeeds Mats Eriksson ahead of the latter's planned retirement next year.

Murphy, a Canadian citizen, has been with Sandvik since 2001. He most recently served as President of the Rotary Drilling division within the Mining business area.
