Here are five charts comparing Nvidia and Bitcoin over different time scales. The performance seesaw is evident over the last ten years, although Bitcoin, which started from zero in 2009, has crushed Nvidia over 15 years.

Over 10 years, it's Bitcoin

2025 got off to a bad start for both Bitcoin and Nvidia. The former reached a record high when Trump was elected, before falling as sharply as it had risen after he failed to mention cryptocurrency during his inauguration speech. For Nvidia, it was the DeepSeek earthquake that disrupted the long, quiet rise of the world's largest company by market capitalization. Now, both assets seem to be back on track for record growth. US tech stocks have taken off again, and Nvidia has even surpassed $4 trillion in market capitalization. Meanwhile, BTC is benefiting from growing mistrust of US monetary policy, between the Fed's management of interest rates and the valuation of the dollar, which has been shaken by Donald Trump's decisions and the trade war he has started. In short, these two names will continue to be talked about for some time to come.
