Costco recorded higher sales in May across all regions.

The warehouse retailer on Wednesday said sales increased 6.8%, to $20.97 billion, in the four weeks ended June 1.

Across all locations, same-store sales rose 4.3% last month. Comparable sales--which account for store openings and closings--increased 4.1% in the U.S. and 3.3% in Canada. Across all other international regions, they were up 6.6%.

E-commerce comparable sales jumped 11.6%.

Excluding changes in gasoline prices and foreign exchange, overall same-store sales rose 6%, with e-commerce up 12%.

The monthly sales come after Costco posted a higher profit and sales for its fiscal third quarter, though same-store sales missed Wall Street estimates.
