Mr. Rye is a Vice President at Thayer and joined the Firm in 2004.
He currently works with IESI Corporation and The Concours Group, and he serves on the Board of Directors of Associated Asphalt and Iconixx.
Prior to joining Thayer, Mr. Rye served as a Principal at Atlas Venture, where he focused on making investments out of its Menlo Park, CA office.
During his time at Atlas, Mr. Rye led, co-sponsored or supported the due diligence, negotiation and execution of 15 investments, and actively managed 12 investments as a Director, Board Observer or interim CEO.
Mr. Rye helped achieve successful liquidity events in SkillsVillage/(PeopleSoft), Obongo/(AOL), Trading Dynamics/(Ariba), eGroups/(Yahoo) and T.sqware/(Globespan).
Prior to joining Atlas, Mr. Rye spent seven years at Robertson Stephens & Company.
During his time at Robertson Stephens, Mr. Rye was instrumental in over 30 financing and mergers and acquisitions transactions that had an aggregate value in excess of $2.5 billion.
Mr. Rye also served as Chief Operating Officer of the Investment Banking Department, where he managed 70 professionals and directly supervised all operations.
Mr. Rye received his Master of Business Administration from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and an AB in Economics, magna cum laude, from Princeton University.
