Mr. John S.
Paolella
is Director of Wealth Advisory Services at Eaton Vance Investment Counsel.
He oversees our asset allocation process and the selection and monitoring of outside managers.
In addition to those responsibilities, he advises a small group of high-net-worth families not only on portfolio construction and implementation, but also on a broad array of financial and personal issues germane to inter-generational planning, including charitable giving, the retention of family properties, and fine art.
He is a trustee of several private trusts, serves as an Overseer of the New England.
Mr. Paolella began his career in the New York offices of Sullivan & Cromwell, where he practiced trusts and estates law.
In 1994, he began a decade-long association with the Asset Management Group at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Inc. (subsequently Credit Suisse Asset Management via its acquisition of DLJ).
He founded DLJ’s New York trust company, directed tax-structured diversification strategies, including the development and management of a substantial exchange fund operation; served on the alternative investments committee; and was a member of the DLJ Asset Management Group’s management committee.
Previously, he was a principal of Pelican Investment Management.
He received his undergraduate degree from Princeton University, a graduate degree from Harvard Law School and a graduate degree from Yale University.
