Richard Palmer

Mr. Richard Palmer has experience in private equity, M&A and strategy roles in New Zealand, Australia, the USA, and Europe.
He joined NZVIF from Tower Limited where he was responsible for strategy and corporate finance for the group.
He managed the listing of AWM on the ASX200 for Tower.
Previously he has worked for AMP and Orange SA, the global mobile communication company.
At Orange, he held a number of senior roles including as a Principal in Orange’s US$225 million venture capital fund and two years reporting to the Executive Board as part of the team responsible for all corporate strategy for the business.
He worked on a series of significant M&A transactions, including the purchase of Orange PLC by Mannesmann AG, the subsequent purchase of the Mannesmann Group by Vodafone PLC, and the divestiture of Orange to France Telecom.
Mr. Palmer holds an MBA in International Business (Hons) from Bristol University and a Law Degree from Victoria University of Wellington.
