Profile

Mr. Steve Strongin is a Head of Global Investment Research Division at The Goldman Sachs Group, Inc. and Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC. He is on the Board of Directors at Ocean Conservancy. He is a member of the Management Committee, Firmwide Client and Business Standards Committee and Firmwide Reputational Risk Committee, and serves as co-chair of the Firmwide Technology Risk Committee. He joined Goldman Sachs in 1994 and was named Managing Director in 1998 and Partner in 2002. He serves as a director on the boards of New York City’s Fund for Public Schools. In addition, he is a member of the Visiting Committee to the College at the University of Chicago and the Advisory Board to the RAND Center for Corporate Ethics and Governance. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Strongin spent 12 years at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago, most recently as the Director of Monetary Policy Research. Previously, he was an economist at the Center for the Study of Economy and State at the University of Chicago and a researcher at PanHeuristics, a think tank focused on military strategy and energy policy. He received his undergraduate degree from The University of Chicago, a graduate degree from Kellogg School of Management and a graduate degree from The University of Chicago.
