May 6 (Reuters) - German defence contractor Hensoldt reported higher first quarter revenue on Wednesday, as orders to equip infantry fighting vehicles and contract extensions for the Eurofighter Mk1 kicked in.

The sensors and electronic warfare specialist recorded a 25% rise in revenue compared to last year's level, to 496 million euros ($580 million)

Similarly, Hensoldt's order book reached a record-breaking 9.80 billion euros by the end of the quarter, from 6.93 billion euros a year ago.

"For us, this is not just a strategic signal, but increasingly concrete demand. Our strong first quarter shows how this development is already being reflected in programmes and procurement," CEO Oliver Doerre said in statement.

Hensoldt's sensors equip platforms from the Eurofighter Typhoon to the Puma infantry fighting vehicle.

The company also confirmed its full-year guidance, saying it expects to achieve a revenue of around 2.75 billion euros and a book-to-bill ratio of 1.5x to 2.0x.
