SpaceX plans up to $100bn for a new site in Louisiana
SpaceX plans to invest up to $100bn in Starbase Louisiana, a new space complex designed to become the main launch site for its Starship rocket. Located in Vermilion Parish, the project could ultimately host thousands of launches a year and create around 10,000 jobs, according to Elon Musk.

Shein Plans Up to $3.5bn for Certain Investors in Its IPO
Shein plans to pay up to $3.5bn to certain existing investors as part of its Hong Kong IPO, partly to offset the sharp drop in its valuation. Potential beneficiaries include entities linked to Boyu Capital, Tiger Global, General Atlantic, Thrive Capital, Mubadala and Brookfield. These investors hold preferred shares with protection mechanisms in the event the IPO is carried out at a valuation below that of previous funding rounds.

United States: Q2 GDP sends a misleading slowdown signal
At first glance, US growth in Q2 2026 disappoints, with GDP up only 1.5% at an annual rate, after 2.1% in Q1. That deceleration, however, masks private domestic demand that is far more robust than it first appears, which greatly tempers the notion of a genuine slowdown in the US economy.

AB InBev Slips on Profit-Taking After Q2
AB InBev shares were down sharply Thursday morning on the Brussels stock exchange, weighed on by profit-taking after the release of strong Q2 results, although this was not enough to keep the stock's upward momentum going, with a 32% increase YTD. After lunch the shares were down about 2% at just over EUR72, marking one of the steepest declines in the BEL 20 index, which was down 1.3% at the same time.
