Dr. Fatland joined Burrill & Company in July 2007 and is involved in the sourcing and development of new investment opportunities in the life sciences.
Prior to joining Burrill & Company he spent five years working at Exelixis where he was involved in the development of the high-speed synthesis group, as well as working on multiple early stage discovery programs for the treatment of cancer.
He was also the CMC leader on multiple development campaigns which are now in clinical trials for several cancer indications.
Dr. Fatland received his BSc in chemistry from the University of Washington, his PhD in physical organic chemistry from Washington State University, and earned a post-doctoral position in the lab of Professor Randall Halcomb at the University of Colorado, Boulder.
He is currently finishing his MBA from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
