Ernest A. Bates

Ernest A. Bates was the founder and the Executive Chairman of American Shared Hospital Services, which was founded in 1977.
He also held the position of Director-Business Forum at California State University-Los Angeles.
Additionally, he served as a Director at FasterCures and Salzburg Global Seminar, Inc. Dr. Bates was also a Director at Astrana Health, Inc., Shared Imaging LLC, and Copia.
He was the President & Director of the Ernest Bates Foundation.
Furthermore, he served as a Trustee at Rochester Christian University and UCSF Foundation.
Dr. Bates was a Member of The Brookings Institution, California Community Colleges Chancelor's Office, California High-Speed Rail Authority, California Commission for Jobs & Economic Growth, the University of California, Milken Institute, The Johns Hopkins University, and The Museum of the African Diaspora.
He was also a Partner at Black Coyote Chateau LLC and a Member of the Overseers Board at UCSF School of Nursing.
Dr. Bates received his undergraduate degree from The Johns Hopkins University and Zanvyl Krieger School of Arts & Sciences in 1958.
He obtained his doctorate degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry in 1962.
