Jana Friedrichsen

Dr. Jana Friedrichsen is a Research Associate at The German Institute for Economic Research.
Her research covers topics from Public Economics, Industrial Organization, and Political Economy.
For example, she analyzes market interactions in the presence of behavioral biases (e.g., image concerns or biased beliefs), studies the effects of information avoidance (e.g., on (un)sustainable consumer behavior), and investigates the effectiveness of leniency rules in cartel prosecution.
Having studied Economics and System Dynamics in Kiel and Bergen, she moved to Mannheim for her PhD studies in 2008.
In 2013 she graduated as Dr. rer.
pol with a thesis on "Social Motivations in Markets and the Social Sphere".
