Elbe Partners requires majority stakes in their investee companies and that they have an EBITDA margin of -10% to 20%.

BPE is a private equity investment manager specialized in buyout operations, both MBOs and MBIs. The firm acquires majority stakes in small and medium-sized companies located in German-speaking countries, with revenues between 15 and 200 million Euros. They favor established companies with experienced management and a stable market for their proven products. The firm provides advisory consulting services to their portfolio companies, and offers support in strategic decisions, acquisitions, financial negotiations and key hires. They avoid intervening in daily business operations. BPE's targeted exit horizon is five to ten years. Investments may be divested in favor of the portfolio company's management, a strategic partner or a third-party private equity firm. The firm also has expertise in venture capital investing in Europe and the US through fund-of-funds, particularly in sectors including telecommunication, Internet, media, and e-business, as well as the healthcare and biotechnology industries.
