Muehlstein & Co., Inc.), the Sherwin-Williams Co., and Wells Fargo & Co. He was a Member of the national Nominating Committee and the Resolutions Committee of the American Red Cross (now known as The American National Red Cross).
Mr. Hughes was a Director of the Newspaper Association of America, the Corporate Health Care Coalition, the Atlanta Legal Aid Society, the Piedmont Park Conservancy, the Atlanta United Way, Georgia Health Decisions, Leadership Atlanta, the Atlanta Children's Shelter, the Atlanta Health Care Alliance, the Atlanta Human Resources Planning Society, the Business Council for the Arts, Theatre Gael, The National Conference of Christians and Jews, the Private Industry Council of Atlanta, Young Audiences, the Brain Injury Association of Georgia, the, the Atlanta Chapter of the Society for Human Resources Management, Georgia State University's Beebe Institute of Employee Relations, the Boards of Visitors of Emory, Clark Atlanta Universities, the Kentucky Society of Georgia, the National Leadership Coalition on Health Care Reform, and the Media Human Resources Association.
He began his career at the Olin Corp.
Mr. Hughes received a Bachelor's degree from Bellarmine University and a JD from Cleveland State University's John Marshall Law School.
