Walter Butler is President and founder of Butler Capital Partners, a French investment company specialized in LBO operations.

Arrived in France from Brazil, when he was seven years old, Walter Butler was educated in Bordeaux. He obtained a Master in law at “Institut d'études Politiques”. In 1980, he had joined the famous school ENA and began his financial path.

In1986, he became advisor of François Leotard, the Culture’s Ministry, and he takes part in TF1 (first French TV channel) privatization.
Two years later, was recruited by Goldman Sachs, as Executive Director specialized in mergers and acquisitions before in New York and then in London.

In 1990, he founded the investment fund ESI, and he bought shares in many societies as “Le Bottin mondain”. In 1991 the fund had become Butler Capital Partners and it specialized in the recovery of enterprises on the edge of default.

In his curriculum we can find, the recovery of the advertising group BDDP and transport company Giraud International. The most people discover Walter Butler, when he buys share in Football team PSG and in shipping company SNCM.

In early 2008, Butler Capital Partners concluded the purchase of majority interest in Virgin Group owned by Lagardère Group.
