Companhia Energetica do Rio Grande do Norte COSERN (COSERN) is a Brazil-based company engaged in the electrical energy sector. The Company operates as a public service concessionary of electrical power, aimed to study, project, construct and explore systems of production, transmission, transformation, distribution and commercialization of electrical energy and other alternative energy sources, renewable and nonrenewable. It is also involved in other activities associated to electrical power services, such as administration of systems of generation, transmission, distribution and commercialization of electrical power, as well as the provision of technical services in the energy sector and export and import operations. The Company is a part of Neoenergia Group. As of December 31, 2011, COSERN was present in 167 municipalities of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, covering an area of approximately 53,000 square kilometers.
