Larry Abella

Dr. Larry Abella is a Principal at White Peak Capital, Inc. (Private Equity).
In addition to his role with White Peak, Dr. Abella has worked within the Intelligence Community and Information Technology sector for many years.
He retired from Northrop Grumman Corporation where he served in various operational, execution, and M&A capacities over a 10 year period, starting as Vice President and Director of the Information Systems Group at TASC where he led system engineering and development activities in Information Operations, Imagery & Geospatial Systems Engineering, Management Information Systems, and Communications / Command / Control / Intelligence / Surveillance & Reconnaissance (C4ISR).
Most recently, as Vice President for Business Development, he helped identify, develop and implement marketing strategies and new business thrusts relating to new or existing technologies, services and systems across all lines of business, including TASC, a $1B business unit.
He came to TASC from the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Navy for Research, Engineering and Systems in the Pentagon.
He was the principal policy and technology advisor to the Navy Secretariat on matters dealing with space systems, tactical intelligence programs and special projects efforts.
In addition, he had oversight responsibilities over select non-space activities in the Navy’s Technology Base related to surveillance, C3I and electronic countermeasures.
Dr. Abella received a B.S.
degree in 1967, a M.S.
degree in 1969 and a Ph.D.
degree in 1972, all in Electrical Engineering from the City University of New York.
He has performed post-graduate work at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Wharton School and the Harvard Business School, and has published numerous papers relating to his field of expertise.
